I have an IH-284 and I love it.

Depending on exact year.
PTO--24 HP
Engine--28 HP
(these are for gas models)

I bought the service manuals but also went on
E-Bay and was able to buy original sales
literature on it.

Mine doesn't have a loader but kind of wished I had one.

Mine was also hard starting in cold..is ok now.
I did simple things--points and timing.
Also, I found that when I use a very low
throttle and choke..starting greatly improved.

I have acquired an IH 284 tractor and have no information about it. Can someone tell me the HP and anything else about it. I do not even know what years it was made. Most of the IH books in the bookstores do not even mention it, or only give a cursory explanation about it. All I know is that it is gas powered and does not like to start in cold weather. I am also trying to find information about servicing and tuning the engine. It has a front end loader on it.

: TIA
